What we do

We are responsible for improving access to opportunities for all road users by developing, maintaining and managing Cape Town’s road network and by enabling an efficient integrated public transport system that is sustainable, affordable, reliable and which supports transit oriented development.

We include

Public Transport

We manage public transport vehicle operating contracts for the MyCiTi bus service and the Dial-a-Ride service for people with special needs. Our Park-and-Ride facilities connect private transport users to public transport. In addition, we also manage fare collection systems, management systems and public transport facilities, as well as industry transition matters and public transport enforcement.

Roads Infrastructure Management

Roads Infrastructure Management is responsible for managing and maintaining the road network, including road resurfacing and maintenance of the stormwater system, informal road networks, public transport and non-motorised transport networks, street furniture within the road reserve and an accurate asset inventory.

Transport Infrastructure Implementation

We implement all new construction and capital investment in public transport, non-motorised transport including walking and cycling, and new roads infrastructure.

Transport Planning and Network Management

Transport Shared Services

Transport Shared Services manages and provides transport-related business systems and information, human resources, support services, business administration and programme monitoring, business planning, communication, customer relations, and change and stakeholder management to enable service delivery.
